Who or what is your musical inspiration?
50 Cent inspires me because of the odds he had to overcome to become successful, and the work ethic he maintained even after succeeding. But I also pure artistry inspires me; lyricism, live performance & poetry, does move me, especially when they have positive messages that can spark change.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I have had to prove myself over and over, and rarely I have had opportunities to be in-front of the right crowds that I am certain they will like & approve my music. Getting the validation & exposure will definitely open doors for me to tour, earn & collaborate with big artists, and also impact my brand and following.
What would you do with $50,000?
I am from Tanzania (East Africa) where live music is niche, and I’ve used my platform to emphasize the importance of playing live. If I win the money, I will first use it to finish editing a live music documentary, and a live album (recorded from my 2024 performance in Sauti Za Busara Festival). Then do a launch event for album & documentary with live performances from few other acts. Buy equipment for my band & start a web-series mini concerts for upcoming artists.
