Who or what is your musical inspiration?
West of Lost’s influences range from '70s Art Rock and Post-Punk, to '80s New Wave and Synth-Pop, to '90s Alternative Rock. Here is a short list of artists who inspire us. Peter Gabriel, Rush, U2, Simple Minds, The Cars, INXS, The Police, Queen, ELO, Def Leppard, New Order, Aerosmith, STP, Prince, Big Country, Cheap Trick, The Pretenders, David Bowie, XTC, The Cure, The Beatles, The Blue Nile, Depeche Mode, Blondie, Pearl Jam, Cocteau Twins, Mozart, Beethoven, Pat Benatar / Neil Giraldo.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would help spread our core message of love, hope, respect, and connectivity. And that acceptance, forgiveness, redemption, and true understanding are just a small part of what makes us human. These are incredibly difficult times we are living through, and we should build each other up and not tear each other down. We all belong. Lastly, we have a dire need and pressing responsibility to become better stewards of planet Earth and all its inhabitants.
What would you do with $50,000?
West of Lost would utilize some of the money to record an album of new material and do our best to get it out there to a worldwide audience. We would build a proper website and create videos to help with promotional efforts. West of Lost would also research where we could donate a portion of the $50,000 to worthy causes that would help support people who are experiencing poverty, substance abuse / addiction / depression / mental health issues.
