I’ve been influenced by so many great artists in my life consciously and unconsciously. But, I don’t try to sound like any other artist. I just write from my heart and life experiences and it really comes out as new but familiar.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would allow me to put together a band and play out live again. It would let more people hear my music basically put WHALEN on the musical map!
What would you do with $50,000?
It would allow me to pay off my one-hundred percent all self-funded album I recorded in Nashville. And pay for my travel and music distribution costs. Additionally, it would allow me pay band members to perform my music live.
