Who will perform at the Global Citizen Festival, appear in Rolling Stone, and take home $50,000?
Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My main musical inspiration is my mother. She was the one that brought me to love singing. Aside from her, my main inspirations are Cavetown, The Front Bottoms, Big Thief/Adrianne Lenker, (Sandy) Alex G, and Skulltalk. If I were to describe their combined sound, it would be, for lack of better terms, indie/alt-rock, with a little grunge thrown in.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
I feel that performing would not only give me the chance to greatly increase my audience and outreach, but I could also use that outreach to get closer to reaching my ultimate goal. Create a community that listens to others that need to be heard, and lift them up and support them.
What would you do with $50,000?
With the $50,000, I would help my mom with any existentials / bills that need to get paid, and then I would upgrade my home studio, as I mix off of a Bluetooth speaker. And then I would donate the rest to the Trevor Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping suicidal LGBTQ+ youth get the support they need.
