Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My earliest lullabies were my dad’s original songs, sung with a guitar in hand. I was born in Nashville while he was pursuing a songwriting career, and music was always a part of our home. He’s the reason I picked up a guitar and started writing songs of my own, and even now he's the person I look to for feedback. If he likes something I’ve written, I know I’m on the right track.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
This opportunity would be a turning point not just as an artist, but as someone actively working at the intersection of music and climate action. By day, I work in climate innovation, supporting startups that are building solutions to some of our most urgent environmental challenges. By night (and lunch break), I write and perform songs that speak to the emotional side of navigating this world. This festival would be a rare chance to bring those two parts of my life together on a global stage.
What would you do with $50,000?
As an independent artist, funding like this would help me release a new EP, create visuals, and promote my music to the right audiences. I’d also use it to launch a Nashville writers round series highlighting artists making music with impact, blending performance and conversations around climate, justice, and purpose, and merging my two worlds of songwriting and climate innovation.
