Who or what is your musical inspiration?
We really enjoy rock n roll music. We have influences from kiss to nirvana. Jason Molina makes amazingly somber lofi music the we take influence from vocally. But we also love avant gard music like Death grips or weirder miles Davis records like on the corner. Also 80s country is really good. Sparta is the home of bluegrass, so we were exposed to a lot of that growing up. We also have a really good pop sensibility when it comes to formulating hooky songs. How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would probably give us a more positive perspective of making music a full time career. Coming from where we do, a music scene isn’t anything we’ve experienced first hand. We’ve played in scenes, but we’ve never had a group of like minded individuals immediately around us. We’re very isolated, and we have to drive at least an hour to play anywhere cool. I think the opportunity to network and just be in that environment would be life changing coming from Sparta.
What would you do with $50,000?
New equipment, studio time, maybe a new router for my apartment too would be cool, and merch/physical copies of our releases. This is not a joke I am being brutally honest.
