Who or what is your musical inspiration?
I get inspiration from many sources, from jazz and latin to punk rock and reggae. But since I write mostly on my Martin acoustic it is the singer-songwriter tradition that really excites me. Well-crafted songs from the likes of Bob Dylan, James Taylor & Joni Mitchell have really shaped my sound and trajectory.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would just be wonderful to play my music to as many people as possible. I just want to share it with them and it would mean the world to me if they enjoyed it.
What would you do with $50,000?
Without a doubt I would use some of it to buy some essential recording gear - a high quality tube mic and a top of the line analogue / digital audio interface for my home studio. The rest would go on studio time for recording an album.
