Who will perform at the Global Citizen Festival, appear in Rolling Stone, and take home $50,000?
Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My musical inspiration comes from being surrounded by music that embodies love, struggle, and survival. These sounds have shaped my path and fueled my passion to create music rooted in my Indigenous identity. I am especially inspired by my ancestors—those who sang and played songs of equality, resistance, and sovereignty during community gatherings. Their voices echo in my spirit, guiding me to carry forward the legacy and ensure the continuity of my tribe’s existence through music.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would be a powerful opportunity to share my work with a broader, global audience. It would allow me to amplify the message of peace, love, and resistance through music and poetry—offering not only a performance, but a voice for Indigenous identity, cultural survival, and unity across borders.
What would you do with $50,000?
If awarded the prize, the $50,000 would be used to help rebuild the Yarina Music School, a space dedicated to providing music education for children from underprivileged families. It would also support the production of original music that preserves and promotes Indigenous culture, identity, and stories through sound.
