Who or what is your musical inspiration?
Title Fight, Dinosaur Jr, Alice In Chains, Webbed Wing, and Loathe are a few melodic and heavy rock artists that inspired us to pursue that type of sound. Their lyrics about heartbreak, mental illness, and addiction also inspired me, Seth Mireles to be unafraid to write about those very same topics. I heavily relate to everything those bands have to say, and their willingness to be vulnerable is what inspired me to go in that same direction with Zegovia’s music.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
It would give us the opportunity to showcase our art to so many new potential fans who might be struggling with their own internal issues. Fans have told us numerous times that our lyrics and energetic shows provide them a release, as well as comfort in knowing that they can feel unjudged at our shows. All we’ve ever wanted to do is help and connect with people, and our music and performances do just that.
What would you do with $50,000?
Our band is in the process of recording our 2nd album. We would put it towards recording and touring costs, and it would greatly help us find more potential fans who are looking for music that will help get through whatever it is they are dealing with.
