Who or what is your musical inspiration?
My musical inspiration is deeply rooted in my family in Iran, Growing up, I saw how Persian culture, especially regarding ones identity was often boxed into narrow expectations—be a doctor, engineer, or lawyer— I always felt trapped by those career arch’s, and I knew mine would be different. I make music to honor those in any culture or background that feel the need to break away from those molds. A Tribe Called Quest is cool too.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at Global Citizen’s Festival would be a massive milestone and an even bigger statement. I reflect on what it would mean for my community as well, the idea of pursuing a career in the arts for most around me feels like a risk too big to take. We’re often encouraged to choose stability over passion.
