Who or what is your musical inspiration?
The modern storytellers are the inspiration behind my sound. Artists such as Noah Kahan, Vance Joy, and Taylor Swift have opened my eyes, showing me how songs are not merely melodies and lyrics, but emotional stories that capture specific yet universal experiences in people's lives. Through storytelling-based music, you can relive a moment you experienced 10 years ago or feel heard in times of heartache. The revelation that songs are captured experiences has changed the way I write my music.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
Performing at the Global Citizen Festival would allow my story to be seen and heard. My music and performance would gain valuable exposure to a new audience. This festival would strengthen my credibility and position myself as a 'next generation' artist to look out for. Furthermore, I would be able to connect with incredible industry professionals and build meaningful relationships.
What would you do with $50,000?
I would invest the $50,000 into my music career. Primarily, I would use the funds to record and release my debut EP. This would allow me to share new music with my audience and build career momentum and visibility. Additionally, I would invest the money into a headlining or support tour to reach new markets and grow my audience. Finally, I would invest in my professional development such as mentorship or management to further my career.
