Who or what is your musical inspiration?
So many things from just music! I am a huge fan of rock (alternative and prog mostly), electronic, and jazz; from these (as a bassist myself), I love artists like Radiohead, Yes, Rush, King Crimson, Coldplay, Kate Bush, Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Björk, Roman Around, Art Blakey, Miles Davis, Tigran Hamasyan, Fleet Foxes, KG&tLW, Chick Corea, The Mars Volta, and many others. As a cellist too, I love composers like Shostakovich, Stravinsky, Beethoven, Mahler, Bach and more.
How would performing at the Global Citizen Festival impact your career?
This would easily be one of the biggest stages I’ve ever performed on! It would allow me to show my musical passions to a world of new listeners! It would also give me more connections to make even more music to be released! I would be so energized from this and want to keep performing and writing for years to come!
What would you do with $50,000?
I would put that towards writing an album! This would include instruments (like a hollow body bass and guitar, and a cello), studio time, getting more musician friends involved, and doing artwork. It would also allow me to potentially book venues to play shows!
